Our History
The Soccer Box concept is modeled after the training environments utilized by a highly successful club in Kansas City. Using this style of small field training, they have gone from one field to a sprawling 66,000 square foot facility and numerous smaller facilities around the city. There are currently Soccer Boxes or Soccer Box inspired facilities in Dallas, Northwest Arkansas and Connecticut with many more on the way. Spark Soccer, LLC is proud to bring this indoor training model to the Greater Heights area of Houston.
Spark Soccer, LLC a Houston-based company, was formed in 2019 for the purpose of providing investment in projects that increase the amount and quality of youth soccer being played in Houston communities.

Spark Soccer, LLC a Houston-based company, was formed in 2019 by Ryan Shumbera for the purpose of providing investment in projects that increase the amount and quality of youth soccer being played in Houston communities. Since entering the coaching profession in 2015, Ryan has found many aspects of youth soccer lacking. Gradually he came to formulate an approach that he passionately believes will improve youth soccer in our area. Ryan has formed a relationship with the renowned Kansas City Legends Soccer Club to provide fantastic development opportunities to the area’s young players.

Spark Soccer Mission Statement
To “Spark” youth soccer in our area, we are focused on projects that meet 3 criteria. Projects must:
Increase the number of young people playing soccer by exposing more players to the game or helping keep players from dropping out of the game.
Improving the experience of players by providing environments and coaching that result in a more fun and positive playing experience.
Spark an increase in the speed of player development by creating focused, deliberate practice in an environment that challenges the players and rewards age appropriate competition and quantitative improvement.
We, in collaboration with KC Legends Soccer Club, are bringing their unique brand of youth soccer player development to the Houston area with The Houston Legends FC and The Soccer Box (TSB). These programs, along with the Happy Feet program, meet the three requirements needed to get the green light from Spark Soccer.
We are proud to be able to partner with one of the nation’s most successful and storied soccer clubs and look forward to developing our initial endeavor into youth soccer in Houston.
